Can I extend my house in SE9?
Eltham, Mottingham and New Eltham sit on a borough boundary. Places in this outward code include Eltham, Mottingham, New Eltham.
Which borough is the applicant in?
SE9 is shared by Greenwich and Bromley. Eltham is Greenwich. Mottingham and parts of New Eltham are Bromley. The policies, the validation lists and the appeal habits differ. A report starts by resolving the authority from the full postcode rather than from the outward code.
Eltham Palace and the surrounding streets bring listed buildings and conservation areas into play for some SE9 addresses and not others. Avery Hill and the edges of the district are a different character again. Order against the address.
This page is about the area, not one house. Order a report for the full postcode. See all areas we cover.
Check with your council. Rules change, and every house is different.
